A cozy ritual, one sip at a time.
There’s something soothing about making your own matcha latte — the sound of the whisk, the aroma of freshly whisked tea, and that first creamy, earthy sip. Whether it’s part of your slow morning routine or an afternoon reset, this ritual is simple and grounding.
Here’s how to make the perfect matcha latte at home:
🌿 What You’ll Need:
- 3g ceremonial-grade matcha
- 2 oz hot water (about 160–175°F / 70–80°C — not boiling!)
- 6–8 oz milk of choice (oat, almond, dairy, etc.)
- Optional: sweetener like honey, maple syrup, or vanilla
🌀 Step-by-Step:
1. Sift Your Matcha
Use a fine mesh sifter to sift 3g of matcha into your bowl. This helps prevent clumps and gives you that smooth, velvety texture.
2. Add Hot Water & Whisk
Pour in about 2 oz of hot (not boiling!) water. Using a bamboo whisk, whisk briskly in a zig-zag “M” or “W” motion until the matcha is fully dissolved and frothy. If you’re using an electric frother, pulse until smooth and bubbly.
3. Heat & Froth Your Milk
Warm your milk on the stove or in a frother. Froth if desired for extra creaminess.
4. Combine & Enjoy
Pour your warm milk into the matcha base. Add sweetener if you like. Stir gently — or let the swirls speak for themselves.
☁️ Tips for the Best Cup:
- Use filtered water for a cleaner taste.
- Adjust matcha-to-milk ratio based on how strong you like it.
- Oat milk gives a naturally sweet, creamy finish.
- Sip slowly. Breathe deeply. Repeat tomorrow.
